Stencil workshop

Recently the Grade 9s and 10s participated in a workshop run by Buenos Aires' Graffitimundo.

Stencil artist Federico spent the afternoon teaching TGS students about the history of stencil art in Buenos Aires as well as how to create their own stencils. This tremendously effective method of creating and repeating imagery proved to a little tricker than anticiapted, but students quickly learned to keep all their 'islands' linked by 'bridges'.

We ended the afternoon with some time to spray our stencils on the exterior of the gallery, adding another layer to the vibrant walls.

The students have subsequently been applying the skills they learned at the workshop, creating their own original symbols based on the recent weXplore trip to Misiones and Iguazu falls... stay tuned for the results of those gorgeopus stencils!
